Mountlake Terrace, WA – Layne Sapp,
founder and CEO of the wholesale lender, MILA, Inc., was a featured
speaker at the fourth annual Toys for Kids event sponsored by the Seattle
Mariners RBI Club on December 2, 2004 at Safeco Field. Layne and his
wife, Cari Sapp donated $11,000 to the charity. The event was designed
to raise money for toys for children in local hospitals and shelters.
The
event was sponsored by the Seattle RBI Club Rick Rizzs, a veteran
broadcaster for the Seattle Mariners started Toys for Kids in 2000
in
hopes of providing children at Western Washington hospitals and shelters
with toys over the holidays. To date, the organization has generated
more than $100,000 towards the purchase of new toys. This year, the
program raised approximately $45,000 with record attendance. On December
10,
2004, Rick Rizzs and his Mariner friends will begin to shop at local
toy stores before the group delivers the toys to local hospitals and
shelters later this month.
“MILA believes in supporting important charities like Rick’s
Toys for Kids program,” said Layne Sapp, MILA CEO. “Children
in our community will now be able to enjoy being a child during the holiday
season from the generosity of this successful program.”
