Privacy Policy


Protecting the privacy of non-public personal and financial information (“Information”) is very important to MILA. MILA is committed to protecting the privacy of all Information disclosed to MILA by our authorized Users concerning their loan applicants (“Applicants”) and from third party service providers who provide MILA and its authorized Users with lending related services.  The purpose of this notice is to provide information about how MILA protects and may disclose Information obtained during the course of doing business with MILA.  Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) requires that MILA conspicuously post this Privacy Policy. This notice should be read in conjunction with MILA’s Terms of Use. MILA is committed to disclosing accurate, complete and current Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, which includes important information about what Information we collect and to whom it may be disclosed.

Information Security.  MILA employs internal controls and safeguards to protect the integrity, accuracy and safety of Information disclosed to MILA during the loan transaction process.  MILA has security standards designed to prevent unauthorized third party access to MILA’s network and the Information. Only MILA authorized Users who have a legitimate business purpose may obtain access to MILA’s secure, password protected network. Except as set forth herein, MILA’s policy is to restrict access to Information to only its employees and authorized Users who need access in order to provide the services and products requested.

Information Sources.  In order to provide mortgage loan and other financial products and services, MILA may collect and retain Information disclosed to MILA from a number of sources including: (i) Information provided to MILA regarding an Applicant’s loan application including names, social security numbers, assets, income, debts, age and employment; (ii) Information MILA receives from third-parties including consumer credit information from a consumer credit reporting agency, a verification of employment or deposit, or a property appraisal; (iii) Information about the Applicant’s current or former business dealings with MILA or another lender such as the payment history on a loan.

Disclosure of Information. MILA does not disclose any Applicant or former Applicant’s Information to any third party except if permitted by law, or authorized by the Applicant, or specifically set forth herein below.  In all such cases, MILA requires agreement by the third-party to the requirements set forth in this Privacy Policy. Notwithstanding, MILA may disclose such Information as follows: (i) to a consumer credit reporting agency or similar reporting agency; or (ii) if necessary to consummate a loan transaction; or (iii) to prosecute or defend any of MILA’s legal rights; or (iv) pursuant to a fraud investigation; or (v) if required in order to comply with a legal proceeding, or any applicable state or federal law.  MILA may also disclose Information to any third-party involved in the processing or closing of an Applicant’s loan application, including the appraiser, title company, real estate agent, escrow agent or closing attorney, or to a secondary market investor interested in purchasing an Applicant’s closed loan, or to MILA’s auditor, accountant or attorney. In addition, MILA may disclose Information to MILA’s affiliates or business partners for the purpose of providing Applicant with financial and non-financial products or services, in which case we require that those parties maintain physical and procedural safeguards to protect the Information. The disclosure of Information by MILA for this purpose to a MILA affiliate or business partner is permitted by law unless the Applicant notifies MILA to not share the Information. To notify MILA of this election, contact us in writing at the address below.

Reviewing Your Information. If permitted by law and this Privacy Policy, a copy of the Information that MILA maintains on the Applicant may be requested by sending a written request to MILA at the address below. After reviewing the Information received, the Applicant may notify MILA in writing of any inaccuracies or discrepancies and MILA will provide information about resolving such issues.

Cookies. MILA's proprietary loan management system, AccessPoint, will instruct the User's web browser to store one or more cookies on User computer. These cookies allow MILA to identify unique AccessPoint Users. This allows MILA to improve the quality of our User's experience by standardizing certain actions that include: logging Users in automatically; remembering past actions from your most recent AccessPoint login; and remembering User preferences. MILA also uses cookies to track general AccessPoint usage information, including the number of unique Users who have used AccessPoint in the last 24 hours. Most browsers are set up with cookies enabled, but Users can change browser settings to indicate when a cookie is being sent or to refuse all cookies. If an AccessPoint User decides to disable cookies, some AccessPoint features may not be available.

Modifications to the Privacy Policy.
