MILA, INC. CEO AND WIFE DONATE $20,000 TO FORGOTTEN CHILDREN’S FUND

More Than 750 Families to Benefit

Mountlake Terrace, WA – Layne Sapp, founder and CEO of the wholesale lender, MILA, Inc., and his wife, Cari Sapp donated nearly $20,000 to the Forgotten Children’s Fund during a Northwest Yacht Captains meeting on December 20, 2004. The meeting raised more than $40,000 to go towards the purchase of clothing, food and toys for local underprivileged children and their families.

The Northwest Yacht Captains organization, a group of local yacht enthusiasts invited local businesses and individuals to a dinner meeting in honor of the Forgotten Children’s Fund. This marks the fourth year the Northwest Yacht Captains organization has supported the charity. This year the group was able to far exceed its goal of $4,000.

“We are thrilled with the 2004 donations from the Northwest Yacht Captains organization,” said Gordon Fouts, Forgotten Children’s Fund board member. “Layne and Cari Sapp were instrumental in initiating the call to action and their extreme generosity will undoubtedly help put smiles on hundreds of children’s faces over the holidays.”

Established in 1976, the Forgotten Children’s Fund is a national charity with local reach and relies solely on volunteers. These volunteers have been busy purchasing and wrapping gifts for local children over the last few weeks. They will begin delivering clothing, food and toys to more than 750 families in Chelan, King, Island and Pierce counties on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Approximately 39 volunteers are expected to dress up as Santa Claus to make the timely holiday deliveries.

“The Forgotten Children’s Fund is an invaluable and long standing charity that provides local children and families with a chance to enjoy the spirit of the holidays together,” said Layne Sapp, MILA CEO. “We will continue to support this charity in its tireless efforts throughout the holidays.”
